Frequently Asked Questions

We know you have questions about our professional dog waste removal service, and we're happy to answer them.

For example, a common one is frequency. "How often should you have my yard be cleaned?" We usually suggest weekly service to keep things fresh and sanitary, but we can customize a plan that works for you.

Price is another important factor, and we offer competitive rates and flexible options.

And of course, safety is paramount. We sanitize our scooping tools between yards with a kennel grade disinfectant solution.

  • Are we insured?

Yes! We are 100% insured commercially with uniformed/trained team members and branded vehicles.

  • Do we work in the winter?

Yes! Dogs do not stop going #2. Keeping up your yard will help create a healthier environment for your family and pet, and you will really thank us during the spring thaw!

  • Winter Policy

First things first = We scoop all year round as the dogs go #2 all year round!

Scooping routinely avoids the spring thaw clean-up expense of $300-$400 because months of accumulated waste become exposed all at once. Most of our clients choose to stay on service through the winter so they avoid that big expense, maintain a clean yard, and keep their guaranteed spot on the schedule. We simply scoop whatever is on top of the snow during each visit.

    Cold Weather Operations

We work year-round! Cold weather alone won’t stop us! As long as conditions allow, we stay on our regular schedule.

    Here’s our key winter guideline:

    ·       If we know a storm is coming, and scheduling allows, we may reach out to adjust your service a day or two earlier so we can scoop everything visible before the storm hits. This helps prevent unnecessary buildup and keeps your yard in better shape. This truly depends on the schedule and manpower availability. Similar to Holidays, we try to adjust the best we can so that we can best serve you!

    ·       If snow completely covers the waste or requires us to dig through snow to reach it, the waste will be collected on your next scheduled visit.

If waste is buried under snow or frozen to the ground, we may not be able to remove it right away, but don’t worry, we’ll get it at your next visit once conditions improve.

Please make sure your yard is accessible after storms so we can scoop safely.

     Access to Your Yard

We do not provide snow removal services. If snow, ice, or a frozen gate blocks access, your service will resume at your next scheduled visit. For safety reasons, our team cannot force gates open.

    Pet Routine Changes

Winter often changes where dogs choose to go. We’ll clean all accessible areas your pet has been using. If their bathroom area changes completely, please call/text 860-316-4737 or email info@poo-bears.com so we can update your notes.

     Skipped Days & Holds

If we must skip your scheduled day due to a storm, no credits are issued. The next visit will include the additional waste, so the workload is the same. If you pause service for the winter, please note there will be a Spring Clean-Up fee ($300–$400) upon your restart. Winter accumulations often exceed ten bags of waste. Clients who stay on service through winter receive priority clean-ups in the spring. For this reason, we strongly recommend not placing your account on hold.

    Staying active through winter:

    ✔ Prevents large spring cleanups

✔ Saves you from the hefty Spring Clean-Up fee

    ✔ Keeps your yard manageable

    ✔ Ensures consistent care

✔ Gives you priority scheduling when the snow melts

We truly appreciate your trust in Poo Bears and look forward to keeping your yard clean all season long!
